Sounded unprofessional, when i picked up phone the person continued saying goodbye to someone in the room, words slurred but sounded like 'hello i'm calling from HSBC'. Said I couldn't really hear so he said 'I'll call you back'. I blocked number before he could, in case the call was costing me large amounts of money (I heard that can happen). Definitely sounds scam to me, and judging by the number of others writing, I suspect it is. Those saying it's HSBC could easily be the scammers themselves or their mates! Please trust your gut feeling, protect yourselves and don't take risks at all. If a genuine firm really needed to contact you they would follow up by other means, including an official phone number, email, or even via my actual online banking page!
