Not sure if this was real, they were polite and sounded genuine, but what they said didn't make sense, they insisted on speaking to my husband for no reason and I refused.

Asked me to complete my postcode and then complete my date or birth which I refused. Said they had to verify that I was the correct person answering the phone. I have never recieved a call like this and know that HSBC would not do this.

They asked if I received a text message asking me to reset password. Then told me to follow instructions on that message. I asked why. They said due go their opening hours being cut due to the coronavirus. Made no sense.

Due to coronavirus tried to offer me help with establishing phone banking and some acces codes for it. I refused. Then I ask if the can send details to my email. They knew my addres details tho. At least part of them and even my day of birth. Email never arrived.

I had a call from this number but I did not answer as I was unavailable. When I saw the call, I searched on the internet and a website mentioned that this number belongs to HSBC. Then, I contacted HSBC through the safe telephone banking service and they infomred me that the bank did not actually called me and to be very cautious. Even I had answered the call, there was not possibility to give them any detail of me, because the bank knows everything they need about me, so no need to ask. I feel very sick with scammers, as they are illegal people, commonly thieves, criminals and they try to live as parasits, but fortunately these kind of people end up living in the margin.
