BT service - a total disgrace. SMS Messaging from BT is Ok, but if you want to speak to BT or make a complaint about this their customer care is NON EXISTENT and worse: I received about 10 calls today from 0845602111 with a text message which gave the originating number as my mobile phone but this has never been out of my possession today and never have I ever sent any SMS massage - never ever. I have just spent 2 hrs on the phone trying to get this sorted - was given different numbers to call - one number given by BT was 0800 0777 71 but when phoned the message is that this number is no longer in service!! and then this gives other numbers which having dialed and spoken to a young man in India, after 17mins 52 secs he rudely hung up on me saying they were not interested because I was not a BT customer and having phoned again spoke to Barnalt also in India who said the same - that because I was not a BT customer they did not want to know - and refused to put me through to a supervisor, (23min 23 sec call time) and she gave me another number 'the correct number for me to dial' which I dialed only to listen to the online reception that says it is for customer complaints regarding call boxes!! Then spoke to an English man who gave me 'the number I need' as 0800 661 441 but when I phoned that number Benish Singh in India answered - a very unhelpful man who told me I did not have a valid complaint and refused point blank to put me through to a supervisor. He vehemently denied that the 08456021111 number was a BT number when clearly it IS, then he gave me 'the correct number to phone' which was 0800 661 610, so I had to point out to him that this was the very number I had phoned and was now talking to him on. This man's attitude was a total disgrace and clearly not only was he lying to me, but just trying to fob me off. Many times I asked to speak to his supervisor, every time he refused point blank. I asked him for an email address but he was not interested at all.

I submitted the above rating and note that some of what I wrote is missing. This included that it appears evident BT either don't have any customer contact number or don't publish this but conceal it - for anything to do with any complaint about this or anything else unless you are a BT customer. I am a company director having been in business 48 years and have never had occasion to submit any negative publicity previously as to any company, but this is a total disgrace.

This is a genuine call from BT sending a text message to a landline phone (The text is necessarily from BT unless you have just placed an order with them ...it is just relaying a text message which anyone could have sent you like hospital, dentist, library, friend, family. You can set time curfews on when it rings you by dialling 08005875252 or you can stop it completely on the same number BUT then you will miss texts. Look on BT website under bt.custhelp.com and search Help and BT text calls. By the way our BT Call Guardian 8500 phone does block this number automatically. Caller: BT Text Service Call Type: SMS

This is a useful service. If someone has sent an SMS to your phone then this will relay this to you in electronic voice format. If you don't pick up it will call again at intervals. Its like an answerphone, so will stop calling once you have listened to the message. You can dial into 0845 602111 to listen to the messages you have been sent and delete them

We have had 6 calls from 08456021111 today alone,the first 1.30pm and the last one at 9.15pm,we leave it to finish ringing then check on 1471 and its either number withheld or number repeated.

Telephoned BT ABOUT THIS NUMBER ONLY TO BE TOLD IT'S NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!. So i would be very careful regarding answering this number. Apparently it's called a non geographical number and could come from anywhere?!.

Hardly to say if this is a good pr bad service, but this number is used for the BT sms messaging service, which converts text messages to voice on BT phones. As users stated on different forums, if you want it to stop Dial 0800 5875 252 (green line, to payed), press 1 - more options are then given, press 5 to stop this service.
