This was from Virgin Media sales and upgrades. The call is legitimate as I had requested an upgrade. It's just that the telephone manner of the caller seems odd and gives the air of being a scam although sure it isn't. One of the problems is that they start asking for too much additional info, eh what's the make and model of your phone

fake virgin media (Scam call) reported by


said they were virgin media to offer an upgrade to TiVo box for £30. I rang virgin to see if it was genuine, they said it was not them it was a scam call and put extra checks on my account and investigate the number.

Keep ringing me and I have asked them not to ring me during working hours as I cannot take the call - asked them to make a note on system but obviously they cant or dont read. I am with Virgin but seriously thinking of changing if they cannot get simple instruction right.

Said I was entitled to an upgrade. I said "I don't want an upgrade, thank you" he said "may I ask why?" I said "no" which I feel is a perfectly valid response. He hung up. Rude! I think if these are genuine Virgin Media employees they should at least be polite. He could have terminated by saying "okay, thank you for your time" and I wouldn't be writing a negative comment. I'm so fed up with being treated like this just because I don't want to fall in with what they want. Sort it out Richard Branson, these Neanderthals are ruining your business.
