Rang me several times, unsolicited calls. The latest call was 10 minutes ago. On two occasions the caller left a message on my voicemail stating they were calling from Homebase regarding a recent order - l have no recent orders for Homebase. Blocking number now.

They said they were Virgin Media. Had strong foreign accent. Difficult to understand. I think they were genuinely Virgin. I'm glad the call was cut off. I've just changed my package sondont need to change it again.

Caller ID said Virgin Media, caller was saying I had discounts or awards or something, started asking for my address & postcode. Tried to challenge them saying I wasn't comfortable giving the details over the phone and request that they email me instead, they said they were not authorised due to GDPR and privacy policy nonsense and insisted that the call was to authorise me as the account holder. Challenged them for a couple of minutes then hung up, very untrustworthy, never give your personal details to someone who rings you up out of the blue.

Pestered me all week while I was on holiday. Only answered 1st time when they said they were Virgin media. I have Virgins number saved in my phone and this wasn't it. They asked me for my details for security so I told them no! She got a bit stroppy to which I told her there was no way she was getting my details and I hung up. They have tried on a different number, just one digit different. I've just answered to one of the calls to complete silence.

Just called, someone from India said they were calling from Virgin Media and were trying to get me to "upgrade" but kept asking for me address & post code and after I kept telling him that if he was from VM, he would know my address it would be on his screen - I hanged up & blocked (They somehow got the fake name I use for VM & number, I suspect someone from inside VM is selling details as I don't these details anywhere else!)

Same experience. I gave my first line of adress and postcode. In the end they didnt offer me anything. I was so scammed.

I only confirmed my name, refused to let them use my first name - how presumptuous of them! Unfortunately I did say Yes a couple of times when they asked if it was me they were speaking to. However, was my maiden name - Hah! Asked them to send me a letter - they said they would email, I said NO, send me a letter. They gave up and hung up, Lols.

They were offering me a new package and seemed to know what I was trying to upgrade to previously, but they were trying to offer me way faster broadband and tv for like £39 and that was cheaper than me just wanting to upgrade my wifi by one tier, so it’s a bit suspect

They got my email address and would send a fake email everytime Virgin sent a real one. virgin weren't able to explain how. It's obvious one of their staff is involved in the scam. They are just as dodgy as scammers anyway which is why I have complained about them to regulators.

The caller claimed to be from Virgin Mobile and she asked me to give out my address in order to pass security so she can run some offers by me. I insisted that I would like to verify that this was an official Virgin Mobile phone number, and many times she would try to convince me to give her my address anyway without providing a solution. I kept insisting, and in the end she told me that I could ring 789 to speak to the official Virgin Mobile office and verify that her number was real. I did exactly that, and the person who I spoke to at 789 told me that nobody from Virgin Mobile tried to contact me as it would have appeared on their system. It's possible that there's an error in their system, but it's also very possible that the whole thing was a lie. I'd recommend not engaging with callers from this number.

Very similar experience I’ve just had. Someone rung claiming to be virgin wanting to see if there are any offers available on my account. Wanted me to verify my address and post code to access my account. I said no as didn’t recognise the number and she hung up. After looking the number up I can see it was a scam. So glad I didn’t fall for it but there are so many people who might.

Usual Call centre drivel about ‘ how are you ma’am’ and ‘am I speaking to xxx’ (pronouncing my name incorrectly) Asked is this a sales call? Said they were ringing to make sure I’m on the best package. Is this a sales call? I’m capable of looking up new packages for myself. Wouldn’t give honest answers to questions so I put the phone down.
