They have been calling me for ages, almost daily. I finally gave in and gave them my card expiry date but when they asked for more details I refused. I hope they can't do anything with just the expiry date! He gave me his name and employee number - Sean Lee, employee no. 4769 and this telephone number. I told him I would check it out before I gave him any further information. Glad I did now.

Details very similar to other scam calls made about TPS international calls dept. Described below. In this case a young Asian woman Sarah Jones. 'Cold called me', offering to get overseasunsolicitated calls stopped. I was unwilling to give my debit card expiry date & didn't. At tht stage I wasn't sure if this was a genuine service, but Icouldn't understand the need for the TPS to need this information. I don' pay my line rental to any of the companies she mentioned so there was no record for her to check part of my debit card details against. I teased her about her very English names, she said she was a Christian, specifically a Catholic ChristianI I teased her about her having an English or even a Welsh family! I took the number of her London office so I could call her back once I'd satisfied myself of the legitimacy of the service offered! When I searched the number & found the preceding descriptions of the same scam as described by others, I realised I'd nearly been had. !!!!!!!

Supposed Telephone Preference Service update call (Scam call) reported by


The person 'Alan Thomson' with a strong foreign accent, said they wanted to prevent foreign calls from getting through and needed my bank card expiry date confirming and the 'validation' 8 digit code on my cheque book or bank card. Needless to say I did not give it and he gave me a telephone number to call - a 'help line'. After this I Googled the number and found similar stories.

An obvious Scam. Caller sounded asian and said his name was Shane Peters. gave me a London address and a London phone number. I told him that if he was calling from within the UK I was reporting him as my number is registered with the call preference service and that he was breaking the law. He hung up.

TPS overseas preference service...... Load of rubbish, I am afraid. I didn't find out what she wanted in terms of payment, when asked for details I said she had that already as she had called me. Then I suggested that I phone her back and meanwhile googled the number.....

Just the same type of call, and Asian sounding guy said he was from Telephone Preference Management and wanted to renew Gave the this number tp call back my TPS but asked for the expiry date of my Visa card, informed me that I pay my phone bill be Direct Debit etc. all of which I refused to answer. When I said I was happy to speak to people like him and waste his time he hung up!

Call Blocker Services (Nuisance call) reported by


This number was given by an Asian sounding guy who called me from 020 3064 0213 and claimed to be from TPS telling me my contract was expiring and that I needed to renew to prevent me receiving unwanted calls. He tried to get me to give him my credit card details over the phone which I would not do. He then said if I did not trust him to call back on 020 3630 0351 which I did just out of curiosity and this number is answered as "Call Blocker Services" which after investigating further is a sophisticated scam based on the Asian continent. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SCAMMED........
