An Indian lady called "April" said she was from BT and wanted to know how we were getting on with our internet connection (we do not use BT either for phone or internet). I told her I did not think she was genuine and could I call them back once I had verified she was genuine. Number was 02036300356 and she gave reference BTO6502.

After answering the call, I was asked if they can speak with the business owner, I said they could talk to me. Jack (clearly not called Jack) told me that he could save me lots of money on my telecom services asked for information regarding the number of lines, confirming that I pay openreach, I dont I go through PlusNet. After asking if I make many calls, it just so happened that my response was just the one they were looking for as thats the the kind of call volume they are looking for... He informed me that I would be getting the best speeds for the internet of 24mb, after saying that was slow he sounded confused. After eventually figuring out that I was on fibre he said that he could get me faster speeds, considering it would all be though the same hardware I decided I had consumed enough of his time and it was getting to a good bit of the Rick and Morty episode I was watching so ended the call.

Guy with strong Indian accent told me my phone line rental and cost of my package for my internet would be reduced. He was wrong on both counts as I just received a letter from Virgin saying that they will charge me £2.99 more.

Said they were from BT Openreach (Call centre) reported by


Foreign lady. Said from BT Openreach and that because we do not use our telephone lines much for outgoing calls they would reduce our line rental down. Gave me a reference number. Meanwhile I did google check on number and it showed lots of negative ratings so I told the lady to get BT to write to us with the details and did not wish to proceed any further with the call. I then hung up.
