Got a text from natwest saying unusual activity please confirm transactions Y/N from a different number. They text from the number specified, i replied no. I got a call from this number it was an automated system, you confirm some details and they ask you to confirm unusual transactions again. Once thats done they put you through to the actual number and an agent confirms what they will do to help you either turn your card back on or send you a new one.

Recd call from above no, then recd sms from 0800 400999 stating “ We need to verify some recent transactions on your debit card, which is now blocked. We will send you a message from +447897023513 with the transaction details for you to check.”, then recd sms from this mobile no. stating “ £ itunes 17-01-2022 08:09:12 Declined. £ itunes 17-01-2022 08:08:55 Approved. Reply Y if you made this transaction, please note this will NOT cause the transaction to go through. If you do not recognise it, please reply N.”, Subsequently called NatWest to confirm if this sms was indeed sent by them, got through to their Fraud Team after an hour, turns out this was a genuine msg from them after all! Made my observations clear to them that an organisation such as NatWest resorting to sending msgs via mobile no. is amateurish and what’s more a classic technique used by scammers! not sure if they will take any notice of comment!

called them back - this is NatWest bank service, when unusual activity on your balance. Spoke with robot to unfreeze the bank card succestfully.

I had my bank card stolen without knowing i then had messages asking me about transactions I pressed no this was not me. This number called and put me on hold it was a man from the fraud department asked me nothing to do with my bank info he already had it on the screen infrint of him. So helpful as someone was spending my money! Definitely a real call from natwest I don't know why people are saying it isn't.
