Firstly the number itself is genuinely a Natwest contact number however if Natwest do call you it appears as a withheld number therefore if 03457888444 appears as an incoming call it is a scam. Someone is masking their call to make you think it is from natwest, i've had this a couple of times, both times i called Natwest and they confirmed it wasn't them but someone pretending to use their number.

i have had a call today sayin they are calling from natwest fraud team saying you have recieved an email from paypal.. how would they know what emails i recieve? for a kick off i am not with natwest so how would they have my details and how would they know what emails i get thsi is clearly a scam!!!!!!

The number is indeed a Natwest number, but when I missed the call and called Natwest back they did confirm it was a scam. Apparently scammers are able to use a system to look like they are calling from any number. Natwest confirmed that if they did call it would appear as withheld number. Very convincing scam, so if you're bank does call and you're unsure, tell them you will hang up and call Natwest directly.

Yes, its NatWest. They rang to check up on a perfectly valid reason. The problem with NatWest is that they don't publish their local bank phone no. so you can't ring the bank directly.
