Checked with my Halifax bank and they confirmed it was a scam (Scam call) reported by Keith
Sounded very legitimate. Told me someone had tried to buy large cost items on eBay and withdraw money using Monzo. It was all going well until I heard a dog bark in the background. I’ve checked with my bank and they have confirmed it was a scam using the legitimate phone number of Halifax fraud team. They also said about another call to set up card protection so I assume someone is going to ring me back. Can’t wait ????

FRAUD ALERT, BE CAREFUL the number is the correct number for halifax fraud line however the number is being spoofed this was a fraudster who told me he could see a debit card transaction and wanted to check it was me. He told me that another device was signed in aswell as my own to online banking and that a loan had also been applied for. he told me he had stopped my accounts and needed to reset my online banking and create a new account to transfer the funds out of to protect me. 45 minutes he tried to get me to move money, accused me of being aggressive. I didnt feel happy at all and it was very professionally done, he clearly was seeing what I had open on my iphone and it was from a phishing message the night before that he gained access. I phoned Halifax fraud line (ironically on the same number) and they confirmed that there were no transactions, that my account was safe and it was clearly a very clever way to try and extort my passwords and bank balance. Halifax have blocked my accounts and are sending me new codes through the post. I have had to lock my iphone down (supposedly iphones are pretty safe), change all my passwords etc as they could have been watching everything I have done all day on the phone. Please be very mindful that this was very convincing. Halifax fraud line is so busy at the moment, it took 53 minutes to get through to them.

Halifax, used the number to unblock a savings account so is genuine but from negative reviews looks like spammers display it to appear to be from Halifax. No displayed number can be relied upon so as one review said get them to confirm some card numbers and parts of post code

Pretending to be Lloyds bank! They stole £83 from me! fraud ! (Scam call) reported by Dorothy
They asked me to authorize a transaction. They had my card details and they did 5 transactions behalf of me. Then they asked me to send them pictures of my passport for verification purposes! They asked me to send it to this email address : [email protected] I reported them to the bank and the police.

Had call from "Marks & Spencer Fraud Department". Told my credit card had been used for £2250 at Argos, I said it wasn't me. I asked her to confirm the last 4 digits of my card, she refused saying GDPR meant she could not do this - then in the next sentence asked me to go through security checks. I refused as I said security works both way. I then called the bank who confirmed no staff had called me

They send you a text pretending to be your bank telling you your phone number just changed and to call if it was not you. When you call they ask you to identify yourself (the same as the real Lloyds fraud line) and ask for your sort code / account number. Then to confirm your full name and first line of address. i assume they then use this info to change your number and get money transferred using the telephone banking service ?

I had made a transaction from my bank and later my account was frozen and a message popped up to check if I had made that payment.they froze the account in case it was not me who made hte transfer

I inadvertently tried to pay more than the daily allowance from my online Halifax bank account. My account was suspended and a message popped up to phone this number. It was a very helpful man from the fraud department checking I was the account holder and hadn't been conned by a scam to transfer money out. All was okay after a few minutes and the account restored.

I Received an email, apparently from my bank, asking me to do online bank. I already do online banking! They also starred the first four characters of my post code and the last three were correct. However my postcode is six digits not seven. Be aware.
