Calling asking for bank details gave family maiden name (Scam call) reported by


Trying to find out details of what company you bank with and gave mothers maiden name to try and prove they had me on their system, this was correct. Do not give any details to this number they are digging for information to scam or steal money!

He phoned me saying he worked for LLoyds Banking and someone tried opening a student account in my name. He told me the police were listening in and that we were being recorded, gave me a crime reference number too. He asked what bank I am with and I said Barclays (i lied obvs) and he said that the person who came in also said Barclays. He then asked me to give my overdraft and account details so he could check how much I had in my account. He also called my classmates from University. He also knew everything about me and the other people which makes me think he hacked the univeristys register.

Guy called claiming he worked for the fraud squad at Lloyds. I was suspicious as I'd just spoken to someone at Lloyds. He said they'd stopped a payment to John Lewis that looked fraudulent. I challenged him before going through security checks to be sure he was from Lloyds. He said he definitely wasn't a scammer. I input the phone number and was directed here. As I contented him he hung up.

they have somehow used lloyds official number to call saying there has been someone trying to transfer money to their own account so they need to close this account and make a mirror account, i hung up and called lloyds myself and they said there was nothing like that on record so to treat as scam call. they had my name and account number

Didn't ask for anymore details then would have otherwise have been asked, said I'd had a loan taken out on my account and was it me, didn't think anything of it until was asked to transfer money to a holding account. Said loan exists and wasn't taken out by self so in a way it wasn't all bad as they alerted me to the fraud on my account in the first place
