It's time the UK government cracked down on these time wasters. So obviously a pathetic attempt to get someone's financial details but vulnerable people could easily be taken in. Block the number and get rid!

Got a call claiming to be HMRC. An obvious scam but out of curiosity I called them back. Indian guy, new my name and address from my phone number - he referred to my by the Indian style 'Mr first name'. He told me I owed money to HMRC and that the police would arrest me if I didn't clear it. When I reacted angrily and put the phone down, they rang back saying two policemen were on their way to my house!! Total scam but I enjoyed winding them up.

This number will claim to be HMRC. It is a scam. Do not disclose any personal information at all and do not take any threats seriously. This is fraud and any calls from this number should be reported immediately to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau on 0300 123 2040.

Auto message stating that you must contact them asap regarding an HMRC debt. I have had this call now 3 times from three separate numbers - the other number they used was on a site as a scam as well. They are total con artists. The automated voice is very bad and unclear and foreign. Do not call them back do not answer.
