Nuisance call reported by The Pres
This person just lost O2 a valued customer. I have been with them for over 10 years and was proud to say that my number had never been misused. This is now one of a number of callers that phone me on a phone that I only use for emergancies for my disabled wife. I shall now be changing provider as they have obviously given out my number without permission.

What I don't understand is how they have obtained my number. I bought a single pay and go giff gaff sim card literally a week ago. I haven't registered my number anywhere yet, but they've managed to contact me today? Even I don't know my phone number yet, I'm really confused and angry as to how my information has been passed on to whoever it is.

3 silent calls, 2 after 6pm and yet when you call them back they say their opening hours are only until 6pm. I'm assuming it's a scam

I am calling customers on o2 PAYG to offer better deals with o2 sim only deals. Why don't people ask before posting and spoiling the chance of someone getting a bargain. Most customers spend approx £15 to get a bundle and we can better the deal.

Why do people not ask before posting? Simple:
1) Callers from this number have claimed to be calling from O2 but phone number does not appear to be posted on the O2 web site, so why should anybody believe it is genuine?
2) During the 3 calls I received from this number, none of the callers identified themselves correctly, nor stated the reason for their call in the opening sentence but expected me to divulge information.
3) The callers sounded like amateur scammers with poor communication skills.
4) On average, I receive 4 scam calls per day and some have purported to be well known telecom businesses and even volunteered genuine postal addresses while calling from phoney numbers or disguised numbers.
5) When I looked up this phone number, it was listed as a residential BT number in the Prestwich area of Greater Manchester.
IF THE NUMBER IS GENUINE, IT WOULD BE YOUR JOB TO TRAIN STAFF TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND STATE THEIR BUSINESS IN THE OPENING SENTENCE, THEN CONDUCT A BUSINESS PHONE CONVERSATION IN A BUSINESS LIKE MANNER FROM A NUMBER THAT DOES NOT LOOK OR SOUND LIKE A FRAUD.
For what it is worth, only one of the callers mentioned a SIM card deal and it was no better than my existing arrangement.

Don't know what you think gives you the right to call my number trying to sell me crap. I'm not interested in wasting my life getting a few quid off my mobile calls especially if it involves wasting my time speaking to a low achiever in a call centre. Time for you to get a proper job and stop annoying people.

@ Lisa - I was wondering Why wouldn't O2 do this themselves or at least know that you are providing this "service" on their behalf. They had know idea about you're company/calls, and say that youre company is not affilliated with O2 in any way. In others words, cold calling.

I got a call from this number yesterdaysaying they were o2 and could give me a good deal on a new contract. I thought something was wierd as o2 have always rang me off an unknown number. The woman did not ask me for security info and was asking me all my details. When i confronted her she said their system was down and was taking details manually....hmmm i asked her for her full name and employer number which was not well recieved so i hung up. They then persisted in ringing me 4 times straight after and 3 times today

Just had a call on that number they were just asking me how much I top up a week and I said I get 10 bundle thing and then the asked me to repeat wat I get so I just put the phone down I haven't even been with o2 a month yet so I thought it was o2 do you know if they will take money of your phone if it's a scam?????.
