Just got called by this number for the 2nd time and stupidly answered. They said they were O2 and started asking questions about how much I pay per month. They said they had special offers for me to save me money, but would not tell me the purpose of their call unless I answered the questions. I have informed O2 customer services and they verified that O2 will never call you directly...they told me to block the number and are aware it is a scam

Similar story to others. I actually contacted O2 to say I did. Ot want to be contacted in this way. The adviser said this is not an O2 number, but did not volunteer that they had had any otner complaints about this number. I have registered with the Telephone Preference Service and will report this number

Phoned today ( 17/12/2015 ). When i answered, they sent a VERY LOUD shrill whistle down the phone. My ear is still ringing. The good news is, i have put a curse on the person who tried to contact me. Somebody in their close family will pass away within the next four weeks. HAPPY CHRISTMAS GEEZER.

I had a phone call from this morning on my o2 number and my fiancée answered the phone and asked for my name then when he said I was out doing shopping they said they would send an appointment out! so when I saw the number I didn't recognise the code as I'm from Scotland and thought id check online and realised this is a scam! NOT.ANSWERING.AGAIN.COM#

I got a call from this number earlier on reportedly saying it was o2 regarding changing to sim only plan for £9.50 never knew my name only my number asked my name didn't give asked if would be interested in getting that plan above said I didn't know and came up with excuse so I could research to check out if it was a scam not sure still as no details other than a call from o2 to get sim only plan anyone have any ideas other than comments other than mines, if so please let me know if I should ignore when they decide to call back.

I only use my mobile for emergencies so only my family have the number. It's quite alarming to get other persons using it - several missed calls from unrecognisable numbers in the last few days. Blood pressure rises. This misuse is abuse.

This is a Call Centre. They do not work on behalf of O2, this is verified. They call O2 numbers for a period of time then they move on to other providers, e.g. Vodafone. They do not have your name or any details other than the telephone number, they simply generate numbers randomly and even if one person in 100 answers the call and accepts the 'so called deal' it is worth it for them. Everyone has to understand that if you don't recognise the number, then you do not need to answer the call. You are not a dog responding to a bell. Only answer to the callers you recognise. After a short period of time, say a few weeks, the call centre will move on to a new set of numbers and you won't be pestered anymore. If you answer the call, they will keep on bombarding you with follow up calls - never give your name or address. Good advice from someone who used to work for a similar company... thankfully not anymore!

This person just lost O2 a valued customer. I have been with them for over 10 years and was proud to say that my number had never been misused. This is now one of a number of callers that phone me on a phone that I only use for emergancies for my disabled wife. I shall now be changing provider as they have obviously given out my number without permission.

What I don't understand is how they have obtained my number. I bought a single pay and go giff gaff sim card literally a week ago. I haven't registered my number anywhere yet, but they've managed to contact me today? Even I don't know my phone number yet, I'm really confused and angry as to how my information has been passed on to whoever it is.

Just randomly generated probably.. try 0780 0000000.....it rings !! well, it did last time I tried it !! Some top knob I guess, he wouldn't give his name though, very sensible chap !!
