second time in 2 days that have received call from this number, why is it we are advised not to give out our number to those we dont want to have it yet they can still get hold of your number despite being ex directory

Numbers are often computer generated. So despite the fact there are those of us who are careful about who we give our numbers to, we are still annoyed by these nuisance calls. I've reported them to the TPS (Telephone Preference Service), and I've just blocked them on my Nokia Lumia 630 phone. I'm not sure if all mobile phones have a blocking feature. Two calls since yesterday from this lot, but hopefully the blocking feature works.
