Irish woman called me said shes from paypal. Asked me to confirm my email address. I refused as it was a cold call and she wouldnt tell me a reason for her calling. She told me to contact paypal myself as it was important. I rang paypal customer services from the number on PayPal website. THEY HAD NOT CALLED ME. Either paypal dosnt know what thet are doing or it is a SCAM.

This number kept calling me all week. Even after I blocked the number, they kept leaving voicemails with just the number to call back, not saying who is calling (suspicious?). In the end, I decided to call them so they stop spamming my voicemail. The woman asked for my email address which I didn't disclose and asked her to delete my phone number from their database as per my rights covered by GDPR. She asked me how to contact me then and I said to use the usual methods they've used to use up to last week (I've never been called by Paypal before after using them for 10+ years) I went on the live chat in my Paypal account after that to report that number and they said: "I want to inform you that it is an authentic call from PayPal Credit Department. Do you wish to be transferred to the certain department to discuss this more further?" I still don't know what could they possibly be calling me every day for because my account is not in arrears but it does seem to be a genuine call despite how suspicious everything about it looks.

They rang from this number cloud not spelled my name even correctly claiming they from PayPal I told them I have no account. I did checked email and my payment was overdue, checked everything and PayPal number on email was 0800 085 7605 so be aware, and don’t worry PayPal will send you email just day after your payment was due.

Irish man said he was calling from Paypal credit, asked me to confirm my email account. I was suspicious and refused and said they had to contact me through PayPal if it was genuine. Received an email very quickly saying they had tried to call me. I didn't click on any links or call back on number given but I logged into my paypal account on a different device and I HAD missed a paypal credit payment and it was overdue, so I paid it. Don't be too quick to dismiss as a scam, but don't give out any info either and DO check info independently on a call like this or you could end up paying additional interest and charges.

I received this missed call, then actually googled their number and read reviews from this site. I was curious so I called back but on withheld number. The options and recorded responses were weird and I pressed 2 (again being curious) a woman answered (sounded weird) and then I hung up. What was even stranger, was 3 mins later they called me again, I answered no one spoke, so I hung up. Was quite creepy - did they know it was me that called earlier and then hung up?!

Irish guy, needed email confirmation for GDPR reasons - Told me how much I owed on PP Credit, which was correct - I told him I'll make my payment through the app and he was fine with it. NOT A SCAM. Stupid paranoid people.

Why would they need your email address before starting the conversation? The very first request was for my email address. Why need confirmation for GDPR reasons? I don't understand. That is like the bank phoning and asking you to confirm your bank account number for GDPR reasons, doesn't make sense. Has to be a scam

I received a phone call from this number. They said they were PAYPAL and that they needed to speak with me urgently. I asked why and they said they needed my email address to confirm the nature of the call. I said I wouldn't do that as the call was unsolicited. They then said it was extremely urgent and asked for my email again. I said no and that they should email me first as they already had it. They said no and so I hung up and called PAYPAL from their website number. They said there was no issue and the number is a KNOWN SCAM NUMBER to them. I reported it to authorities. The positive reports here are fake. I promise you THIS IS NOT PAYPAL!!!
