To echo a lot of what others have been saying - they seem normal and the standard questions you would get from Tesco - however to confirm Full Name, mothers maiden name and then date of birth, it was the final one that rang alarm bells. If I was paying more attention I wouldn't have answered the second one at all...since I have recently moved, I thought it could have been a courtesy call but seems pretty sketchy.

Said they were a Tesco (Telemarketer) reported by


Said they were Tesco upgrade team. Asked my name, DOB, place of birth. Said I wasn’t happy giving that information, to which he sent a text saying they were Indeed Tesco. Ok I thought. Found a good upgrade deal for me, asked for payment details. Alarm bells, told them I didn’t have my bank card at work, asked them to call back in 1 hour, they didn’t call. Read these comments, then blocked them!

DO NOT ANSWER - confirmed scam Caller seemed plausible (had my name and knew my supplier) but I wasn't keen to do this now (I'm meant to be working!) so I said I'd prefer to do the research myself. Then I saw the negative ratings here. Phoned Customer Care using the number on my SIM, they say this number is registered with them as a scam. They try to take action but are overwhelmed, so recommended I block the number.

I just got one from Tesco Mobile asking me to update my details. Nearly fell for it but they said I had an outdated package and a s ive just got new package, I told them where to go.
