Was phoned by computer from 08000159010, answered call - but volume so low that I could not make out what it was saying. Checked on this website the number calling and also seen complaints that call volume was too low to make out call. Tried calling number but it was just an Indesit Service answering machine and could not progressive further. Went online to http://www.indesitservice.co.uk/contact-us-page/make-a-repair-booking/ but live chat unavailable (this was during advertised hours Monday 12/09/2016). Called Hotpoint to see what is happening - asked for my model number and serial number – I refused to give it as all the details had been registered online previously, despite this they were able to find out using my postcode and then all they could give me was my repair reference number. I was told to go online by agent and use webchat to make repair booking. Informed agent that webchat is unavailable. I am afraid that this is pathetic service from a company that I have being buying from for 25 years. I have been waiting since January 8th to get my 2 Indesit driers repaired. Made complaint to Indesit on 12/09/2016 using above website. Got a call the same day from Indesit and was able to book a repair for 1st week in October 2016.

Have been waiting over a year for an engineer to attend to rectify the recall problem for our tumble dryer. Got a call this morning from this number and the person on the other end of the phone had such a heavy accent as to be unintelligible. Asked repeatedly for details which had already been given several times to Hotpoint and we have even had two emails from them confirming a date for a visit by their engineer. Refused to give them further details and if this is typical of Hotpoint's Customer Service then its a pity they don't get gummed up with fluff themselves!. What a useless shower, couldn't organise the proverbial in a brewery.

Totally illegible due to accent and speed of garbled call. Call centre call from presumably India. Only realised it was about the dryer after many playbacks of the voicemail and tracing the number here. No idea when they will call back. Seems to mirror what others have said here. Poor from Hotpoint considering it was their faulty equipment that caused all this.

Put our answering machine on while we were out for a short while this week. The machine clearly states that it is an answering machine and requests the caller to leave a message.A message was recorded by someone simply yelling my name over and over again as though they thought I was just standing by the phone! No information as to who they were but a 1471 enquiry revealed this number. If this is the standard of customer facing employee at this company I shall never deal with them again (once we get our drier rectified!).

Indesit repair service. brief history ,, like so many others I guess... our tumble drier was one of those that caches fire and should be replaced or repaired. registered it late 2015.. repair date given as April 2016,, then received another email changing the date to august 2016 and then received another a month or so ago changing it to a date the month of which I can't remember just now but in year 2017!!!! today receives a call ..WHICH I ANSWERED .. there was a distant hardly audible recorded loop which constant repeated two phrases.. the first too faint to hear and the second "This is not a sales call". I 1471'd the number found it was 0800 0159101.. used your site to see who it was and called it.. I got another recorded message which said "this is the Idesit Repair Service. " then something like we called and you were out (!!!) so we will ring again. and that was that. I fear another delaying ploy so they are be able to say we did call you to arrange a repair and you never answered".. would seem to fit with many other problems people are encountering. we are not buying a "new" machine from them at their discounted prices as 1) the machines they are using to replace them with are often older models, models that have also had a recall at some time, or are no longer sold, models that they have "repaired" before even selling them - apparently if you receive a "new" one and it has been "repaired" it will have a green mark on it ..sorry can't remember where. good luck all! 2) my husband is an engineer and looked at the workings of the machine .. ours had no fluff/lint escaping into the mechanics/electrics.. BUT we have always been very careful about removing all lint however small from the filter at every usage and cleaning out the area the filter goes in regularly. we are sticking with the devil we know rather than take on the unknown many of which it appears, from blogs and newspaper articles and daytime tv programmes, also have burst into fla

Excellent and very informative advice. Having just been called by this number and not answering, I looked it up and read your very helpful entry. It is disgraceful that this company has been allowed to get away with this scandal. Afterall it could be a life threatening issue. Disgusting approach. I considered buying one at the discounted price and your superb advice has made me decide against this. I just make sure I put the tumble drier on when it can be fully attended to and never leave it running when I am out of the house. Thank you for your great advice.

Definitely Hotpoint tumble dryer repairs, however the guy did not speak with a English accent, asking lots of personal questions that i was not going to answer, seems that even though you will have filled out all the requested information when registering the fault with Hotpoint, you then wait over half a year to eventually get a call (that if for some reason you are unable to answer There is no return call option!!!) Then to top it all, the customer services agent that ring to scheduled the repair appointment does not have you details ! not the model no serial no, they lost my home phone number ? This company which was once great is laughable now and anyone who continues to buy Hotpoint/indesit products deserve everything they get . lets be fair we pretty much all have children, and this company deems it ok with putting there lives at risk, personally i will never purchase another thing from them. Hopefully now the machine will be repaired within the month but thats it for me and Hotpoint. lets hope there are no more house fires or injurys due to this company's incompetence.

I have had a the same done on me . ended up i had to re-register it again( June ) cause they lost my details . This was first reported in January. Been treated like an idiot and a liar all through this, transferred ,put on hold ,computers down. Really restores your faith in them don't you think.Was once a loyal customer , not any more.

Registered my tumble dryer online on 23.11.15, had missed phone call from this number on 25.11.2015 and received call on 26.11.2015 to say my machine was definitely affected and I would get a replacement, asked for serial and model number again but as in work did not have to hand. Said he would call back later in the evening when I got home....surprise surprise no phone call for 2 weeks. Resubmitted my details online again on 7.12.2015, received phone call 01733 282800 on 24.12.2015 offering an engineer to repair model. Explained situation and asked to speak to a manager. None available, will call me back. Surprise surprise no phone call until 29.12.2015 offering repair again. Explained to person the situation yet again and said a manager would call me back...no call. 30.12.2015 yet again received a call from the same lady, told her I spoke to her yesterday and was told her manager would ring me back, she put me on hold whilst she spoke to her manager then told me I would get a replacement Whirlpool dryer said it was white with a black door and if acceptable would get her manager to ring me back to arrange convenient delivery date and time. Surprise surprise still no call back. Have since googled possible model and looks like it is not produced anymore. This is so frustrating!!
