Telemarketer reported by SIA User
O2 unsolicited call. Why would they phone? I only wanted the sim so I could transfer video from my phone to my computer. Disturbing. Go away O2

Cannot trust this number calling me (Scam call) reported by Steven
This number has too many scam-related activities to be trusted. Never give out any personal information to this number. Always call back o2 sales direct from a number from the o2 website.

Claim to be o2 (Unsolicited call) reported by NotInterestedInO2
Unsolicited phonecall from somebody claiming to be from o2. Two days after I ordered a PAYG sim card. Guy had my incorrect details and was rude. Never found out what he wanted because I disconnected. Blocking the number now. My number is on a no call register and I never agreed for O2 to use my number for marketing purposes. I'm so glad I'm not their customer.

02. (Telemarketer) reported by Notmyrealname
Offering a sim only contract, they've done this twice now - both times after ordering a PAYG sim. My advice, if you order sims online, don't add your real number when ordering, I only did so as I'm changing it anyway, hence the free sim.

claim to be O2 (Telemarketer) reported by Jay
Just ordered an O2 SIM. Very convincing call and they have all your details. However, they also ask for your card details and the security code from the back of your card. They claim this is only showing in their system as stars and it is for an identity check. In today's world of scam calls, it seems irresponsible to be asking for those details over a call even if it is legit - hence the neutral rating. The number picks up as O2 but asking for those details is not normal practice and something that banks warn us against.

It's o2 (Call centre) reported by Chuwa
I ordered an o2 pay and go sim - this is merely the call centre making an offer of a 12 month sim only deal. Seems like a legitimate call.

Convincing O2 scam caller (Scam call) reported by Daniel
This number called me about a SIM I ordered from O2 (which I did). They were very convincing. I actually gave them my account number and sort code, but hung up when they asked for details on my card. No official service asks for your card details like that

Actually are real 02 company. Checked all details on the 02 local branch. Are not scammers

No message to say I missed a call or why they called? Bit sus (Scam call) reported by Anonymous
If they needed to talk to me I would have got a message about why or saying to call them back? This is a bit suspicious. 0333 is an non-geographical number and if I’m honest I never trust calls unless it is a local number I know in my contacts or someone I expect to call me. If it’s 07 at the start (+44 7) I will trust it, if not then I won’t risk it just for a biscuit. I’m not having my money taken and if I was you do not answer. If you answer tool with them like they are trying to tool with you because if I’m honest they deserve it the ****

Scam call reported by SIA User
Impersonating O2 by offering a "better" SIM card deal however it is a scam to get you to give them your bank details. They will try to trick you by giving you I formation you believe only O2 has. Do not fall for it! I contacted O2 and they confirmed that it was not one of their numbers nor a company's they outsource

Are not scammers, are O2 official monthly SIM deals. All details checked on the local branch. Waiting for my new SIM and got confirmation from O2 as well

The number is not legitimate. This is a scam. If you search the number in the O2 community forums, this will confirm it as a scam. I also called up O2 to confirm if it was from a company they may have outsourced and they confirmed that they do not recognise the number.

From what I can tell this is a scam call (Scam call) reported by Leon
They said I was lying about not topping up my sim card every month ???? I don't use my phone much and only top it up when I need it. After I said I didn't want a contract because of this, she decided to just mute her mic and stop talking to me so I put the phone down. I don't think 02 would call their customers liars and not know when I top my phone up. I suppose it could've been a bad employee but I don't think it is.

o2 deals offers (Company) reported by Patrycja
It is genuine o2 call, they offered me a good deal which isn't available or their website or elsewhere. I did add offered deal for my son to my existing contract, I've received new sim card the day after and everything working completely fine, new number is shown on my o2 account in both o2 website and in the app. Its not a scam at all ????

continued... (Scam call) reported by An Almost Victim
So I told this woman that I would buy her £14 service if she told me which number previously called her. Obviously I thought that the number which had called her earlier would be a possible victim. So she took the bait and gave me the number. I took the number and ended the call. Immedietely after, I called the number I got. And no one picked up. I messsaged, this is urgent, call me back but I got no response. No matter the phone I called her from, she or he didn't pick up. And the legend continues.

Scammer impersonating O2 Customer Service (Scam call) reported by An Almost Victim
I recieved a call from this scammer pretending to be an O2 repreentative. I later understood what their script is, they ask you if your sim has arrived and then ask you how yoy use your phone. According to their "calculations", you would better want a 24gb, unlimited calls and texts for just 14 pounds! Isn't that amazing? Well, not after you understand their aims. They ask you for your sort code then. And as for me, I was moments away from handing them the money but just a bit of discomfort made me end the phone call. I searched up the number and WABAMM! gottem. Now a day passes and I have receieved my actual sim but I know that there are other people who this scammer is calling. So I turn on my screen recorder and call'em. The guy picks up and as soon as he does, he asks me, "are you rebecca?". So I understood, this Rebecca was on her way to hand her money. And I like any other humane person answer, "yes". All I wanted was to save this Rebecca. My first move was to try to get more information about them about O2. Faliure to do so will result in elimination ( if you have watched the show minute to win it, you would know ). And as soon as I asked for more information, particularily about buying the new iPhone, the man ended the call. Now I had a name, "Rebecca". But I needed her number to call and tell her that she could be scammed any second now. So I call the scammer again. After searching if I could impersonate someone. And a woman with an Indian accent attends a call saying her name was "Amy". I knew that voice. It was the same person who called me when I ordered a sim. So I told this "amy" that my name is Rebecca and I need the phone number I previously called her from. I thought that they would give me the number (which would be of Rebecca) and I would take it to call Rebecca to not fall in Mojo Jojo's lap (powerpuff reference). But that woman didn't give me the number that easily. So I tried to lure her in... (continued on next comment)...

02 SIM deal offer. (Telemarketer) reported by Makros17
'Amanda' rang from supposedly O2, & asked if I'd received my new SIM. She asked how I use minutes texts & data, then offered me a better deal. I accepted. She asked for my bank card details, but I was on a noisy street, so said she'd ring back tomorrow. In the meantime, Googled the number which brought me here. When she rang back, I told her about this website and what I'd read. She replied... "You're not the only one. Many people have told me it's a scam. But they're wrong. This number may not be recognised by O2 HQ as we have many call centres all over the world and they change from time to time, as do the phone numbers. If you feel uncomfortable buying over the phone, you can go to our website where you'll find the same deal I've offered you and you can pay online." Her 'tailor-made' deal was not on their website. If these scammers can access data about me ordering a new SIM, how safe are my bank details with O2? This woman is gently confident, articulate, and she knows her stuff - a dangerous scammer!

Didn't answer as they called when I was busy (and I rarely answer unrecognised numbers anyway). I ordered a new PAYG SIM from O2 yesterday so it looks like the scam comments from other people are accurate.

scammer from O2 asking for bank details, angry when not given (Scam call) reported by Rebecca
Number not registered with O2, ordered a SIM card and they kept asking for details I’ve given. Got aggressive when I said I’d rather call back O2 to give my details... told me he’d get my SIM card sent out the next day and said a lot of mobile data stuff that was actually incorrect and kept pushing for my account details. Please be careful it’s always safer to call back O2.

This also happened to me today.. they got aggressive when I got suspicious! I put the phone down.
