Lady left message saying she was from British Gas and that my direct debit had been unsuccessful! On checking with my bank it was successful a couple of days ago! Telephoned British Gas and they confirmed everything was fine and that they had not contacted me or had any concerns about my account. DO NOT ANSWER CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER

Said there was a problem with my direct debit, funnily enough it had gone through without problems 2 days previously??? Hung up after declaring that I DO NOT DISCUSS PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL MATTERS WITH COLD CALLERS!

Scam call posing as British Gas (Scam call) reported by


Lady called asked to speak to me by my full name, said she was from British Gas and wanted to discuss my direct debit payment change, she then asked me to confirm my full postcode. I told her that I do not discuss financial matters over the phone and that I shouldn't have to confirm my postcode as she was ringing me. I told her that I communicate via email with British Gas and would not discuss anything from a cold call. She basically huffed and puffed, said I would receive a letter and hung up. I contacted British Gas directly and they confirmed it was a scam call. Beware folks, these **** are ruthless.
