Lady called saying she is from British Gas, wanting to speak with the person who deals with the utility invoices. I told her the bills are included within the rent and the landlord deals with it. She asked if the landlord was in and I told her that he is never here, as he is the landlord. She said she'll ring back some other time and try to catch him. He won't be here.

Agrressive women claimed she was Britosh Gas and that debt owed for immediate payment. I have moved into new flat and was sent a wrong bill. I had already spoken to BG before so knew no charges owed. As I explained that to her I had spoken to them, she just hung up! Horrible subcontractor - Britosh Gas should be ashamed.

The caller claimed he needed to collect an outstanding account as a card payment and would also assist in setting up a direct debit, I only agreed to speak with him after he had accurately provided my BG account number, but I continued to be suspicious so I checked his phone number whilst speaking with him and found nothing but bad reviews on a few searches, therefore ending my call with him.

Called by an lady with an Indian accent asking to speak to the person responsible for the utility bills. The number they called is not the number registered with British Gas. I have been called by this number before, so I just told them we don't have an account with British Gas and she hung up.

Called to say that she if from British gas with children's screening in the background, safe to say I knew what she was and I made her week very very bad. I`m sure she won`t call my number again unless she enjoys being verbally abused in the most horrific way possible.

I have this number blocked so it goes to voicemail, have left 5 blank voicemails each about a minute long, sometimes completely silent, sometimes can hear rustling. Will not stop ringing.

A lady with an Indian accent said she was from British Gas and that she was chasing an outstanding bill - she knew the amount due - however British Gas don't have our phone number and so I was instantly suspicious. I asked her if she was really from British Gas and she said she was. Then she started asking how we will pay the invoice - I know that British Gas send late payment invoices (they don't ring) and I said this is a scam and she put the phone down.

Im sure this woman knows when bills are due, she'll call (south african accent I think ) around bill due date asking for payment. She knows enough of British Gas to walk you through some steps but DO NOT follow her lead. She'll ask for confirmation of some details from the start and attempt to gather more information from you. THIS IS A SCAM and I wonder why British Gas has not yet closed this down.

They said they were with British Gas and said my meter needed upgrading. A bit odd since I am not with British Gas. It is British Gas but they are just cold calling to collect domestic information from the public. I still get adverts from them, have not been British Gas customer for a while.

Told me BG were going to change my meter, I told her I’ve already got smart meter and I wasn’t going to have it changed Then I told her to stop wasting my time as realised it wasn’t from British Gas. Then googled the number and saw others had had the same. Ps. Well done for providing this service where we can check

Just had a South African lady try and get through to the business owner. She was very abrupt and clearly making up the information as she went. Always ask for your supplier to send your bills via post, and call them directly. One of many dozens of scam calls we received weekly.

Didn't have my name, only address was 1 word, nothing else... and nothing to do with my actual address!! Said it was about an unpaid invoice. Utter nonsense.
