Had a missed call from this number. I get 2 to 3 of these every day. It’s a known scam, usually the fake O2, EE, or Vodafone scam. I used to answer, but after researching and experiencing it myself, it’s clearly a scam. I now ignore all of them and recommend you do the same. WHAT I DO: I REPORT IT TO 7726 – just forward the number or message. It’s free and your network investigates. I USE FREE APPS LIKE HIYA AND WOTCHA – they block scam calls and make reporting easy. I REPORT IT ONLINE – I log the number on tellows.co.uk and shouldianswer.co.uk to help warn others. WHY I NEVER RESPOND: Answering or replying – even to tell them off – confirms your number is active, English-speaking, and responsive. That makes it more valuable and guarantees more scam calls. Even one reply keeps you on their list. BOTTOM LINE: If it’s real, they’ll leave a message. If they don’t, block it, report it, and move on.

Thought this was a scam, especially after all the negative reviews, BUT after talking to the lady & going through my O2 account while she was on the phone she knew all my phones etc so ordered as on the website the Apple Watch was out of stock she said " no madam we keep a certain amount of stock for our O2 customers through phone sales. I placed it straight away & had all my contracts etc & it's being delivered tomorrow, I'll have a very happy daughter Christmas morning. Think O2 needs to look into these reviews & make searched websites official as they're losing sales.

Had a number of these from this and similar numbers. When I say 'you're not O2 and I'm not interested' they start getting mouthy and answering back. If this was O2 then they should be ashamed, but I don't believe for one second it is. Just don't answer it.

keep getting multiple messages from o2 app saying they will be calling me and i answered once and they were offering me a deal, i told them I don't need a deal right now and they said thats fine and they will call back in 2-3 months. But they are still calling me a few days after, I blocked thier number after a few days and still recieve a message saying they will call but don't actually get a call so best advice is to block the number. I think it's a third party company working on behalf of o2, but even after saying that, be careful, companies shouldn't be spamming their custoemrs, thats one of the worst things to do in customer service, contact o2 through their contact information on o2 website or look for deals yourself online.

Said he was from O2 offering discounts or additional services for being a loyal customer, seemed polite enough, not incredibly pushy, had my name as well as seemingly some idea of my data usage. Hard to tell if it was a scam or not but was not persistent in trying to convince me into anything he was offering, gave me 3 offers, a discounted rate on a tablet, declined with reasoning he was fine with that, discounted rate on a Samsung smart watch, once again declined with reasoning and he was fine, then a rate to double my data for £2 a month which I again declined as I had no need of it and he thanked me for my time and I ended the call. On searching for the number while on the call I found conflicting information regarding this number, a twitter thread from O2 confirms it is a number they would call from, however a forum post on O2's forums suggests blocking the number as it can be spoofed, in the end regardless of scam or not I legitimately didn't need anything they offered me and would suggest erring on the side of caution. In my experience if they are polite and not trying to hard sell something it does lean towards being a legitimate call but you can't tell these days. If something did peak your interest perhaps take note of it, call O2 back in your own time explain you had a call but got cut off, say what was offered to you and they will confirm if that offer was legitimate or not.

picked up csll Irish guy asking for my son. Said not here and was very persistant, went into my mind game mode he didnt like it and called me an immature woman was incredibly rude and asking for my son let him waffle on then hung up.

Received a call from this number, the Irish man on the phone sounded friendly and said he was from O2, claiming that he was doing 'general checks' of their customers and if there are any queries. He knew a lot of information about me and my phone contract and spoke very quickly. I said I've noticed the price of my contract has gone up recently without me doing anything and wanted to know why I'm getting charged more. He quickly put me through to another department as he said he wasn't sure how to help, it felt very rushed. This woman answered the phone as if I had called O2 directly and I was confused, saying that they called me and put me through to a different department. She started asking me questions about myself and my account so she could help me with my issue but asked me my security question which I didn't want to answer over the phone so she sent me a text code. She then told me that if I call O2, they can ask for a security question off me BUT if I get a call from O2, they cannot ask me for security question answers of any personal info. I explained to her what happened and she said it was a scam call from thr Irish man. Makes me think that he may have been listening in on the call in hopes that I would tell her my security question answer. Never give personal details over the phone!!

I had just left the shop when they called so I thought it was the shop, they say they are O2. I didn't like the scripted way the man spoke. I told him I had just been given upgrade info'. But he rattled on and I hung up. They have phoned each day since. Now I am on days I will check with O2 directly.
