Amazon Cybercrime (Scam call) reported by Sara
‘James Thompson’ calling from cybercrime told me someone in Devon was attempting to make a purchase on my Amazon account. He wanted me to let him access my computer in order to fix the hack. I was already under the impression this was a scam so I asked for his company name: Amazon Cybercrime, his address: 13 Hanover Street, London, W1S 1YH and phone no. 02081443455. I will NOT be phoning him back! If you read any positive feedback it will be a SCAM.

IT Support London Jennifer David then Stephen Finn 0208 1443455 (Scam call) reported by Concerned desktop icons now gone
First woman called from allegedly IT Support London about problems with computer slowing down. Asked for telephone number and company name.Asked her to call back at 1600. I rang an hour later but no-one pickd up around 13:00. She rang about 15:00 and showed some screens Ctrl R Services - highlighted the stopped services were security issues and would pass to Senior Technician. He claimed he was Certified Microsoft engineer gave ID number. said Windows was sending messages to the Technical Server Service Station. He was not from Microsoft but from Event Online Help Service Station which was receiving messages that computer was in a critical state. Claimed Kaspersky was not compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium. Slower performance because of viruses. Showed Special Logon where other people were trying to logon to computer. Asked to type in www.teamviewer.com into command line. Connected, took over desktop then went into Notepad writing the services he was going to perform. Used a lot of assumptive language and suggestive language to register for either Lifetime £350 or 05 Years £250 to remove viruses and install network firewall etc. Saw happyhourvirus.com flash up. I Removed connection. He Said that they couldnot let computer continue and that I would lose access unless took either lifetime or 5 years service. I challenged him that it was a scam call and that he would be sued if anything happened to the computer. He replied you cannot do anything. I asked for the address which he wrote in Notepad as 14 Hannover Street Mayfair. He said he did not know the COMPANY number. I asked to speak to a manager, who owns the COMPANY. He could not say, only that he was an employee. He wrote into Notepad a Termination Number and implied there was no other option but to close the computer down. He noticed I'd discconnected the internet and claimed I had shutdown the computer. He said a manager would call me back. I insisted to speak to a manager straightaway not later He hung up.

Told me pc faulty. I don't have one! (Scam call) reported by Funky
Third day in a row of phone calls. Answered twice today and told me pc playing up, impossible as I don't have one. I hung up, rang back and started lecturing me so I gave him abuse and hung up. He kept phoning back and in the end my wife answered, he hung up. I rang them back saying there was a fault with their pc and they were stunned, told me it was a residential line but I could clearly hear the call centre noise in the background. I told them to stop calling me.

Microsoft London (Scam call) reported by Lulu
Call from Michael with no hint of a London accent insisting my computer had error messages. Told him several times I did not have these.... he kept saying I did and would give me my PC licence number to prove he was genuine. When I said I wanted it sending in the post not via PC he said my PC would terminate in the afternoon. I said if he gave me the contact number I would ring ...... of course I won't be. Very, very persistent. In fact I hung up politely 4 times and he still kept ringing. Why do these people do this?

Online Suuport (Service) reported by Nick Smith
Just had a similar call from the 'Online Support team' in London although he didn't have a cockney accent? Wanted to show me how to remove a virus called Torpig from my computer. Insistent I did it as he held the line and he would talk me through what to do next. When I asked him who paid him/his company to support my system i.e. Microsoft, HP etc. he couldn't answer. When I expressed my concern about his possible intention, he confirmed if I didn't call back within 2 hours he would send a message to Microsoft to disable my computer. Although I appreciate a call from a good samaritan who doesn't get paid by anyone and is only interested in making sure it doesn't spread to my other devises, I wont be calling back.

Mirosoft errors on server (Scam call) reported by Helen
The call was supposed to be from Microsoft who had an error logged on the server from last night. They wanted me to download different pieces of software so thy could remotely access my computer to fix these errors. I went along with the call for sometime as I was not sure, but I became suspicious when my system kept on showing up error messages and then I was told that this could spread to other computers in the house. I made my excuses - took a "name and number" and sd I would call them back in an hour. I wont be dong that of course.
