A recorded female voice. HMRC law suit against me. House under home surveillance. Don not ignore call. asked me to call back on another number. then call ends. Tone of voice is serious and threatening but no mention of my name or anything that can personally identify me.

Law Firm, Criminal, House under Surveillance (Scam call) reported by


I did not answer the call, but picked up the message and a Robotic Voice said it was from a Law Firm and that I had been listed as the primary suspect in a claim and that my house was under surveillance and that I should call them back. I did not call them back! but googled the number, which brought me here.

I called the number back to have a rude person saying he is from (Robocall) reported by

Scam call claiming to be from a non existent law firm (Scam call) reported by


I got a call from this number (02080890882) this morning... the caller ID on my phone displayed the number and the location as 'London, UK' - I have a policy of not answering phone numbers I don't recognise (If it's important, they'll leave a voicemail) - In this instance, they did leave a voicemail... so I listened to it. It was a pre-recorded robotic voice stating that they are from a London based Law Firm (LFD Solicitors) and they have received an instruction from HMRC to pursue an outstanding debt that I owe (£2,800) it then went on to say that in order to resolve this, I needed to call them back on a different number and I could pay a much smaller amount (£600) to make it all go away. The wreaked of a 'scam' to me for the following reasons: 1. It was a pre-recorded message, read-out by a digitised voice; not an actual human being 2. I used to work with HMRC and I know for a fact that their procedures for recovering unpaid debts never involve third-party firms (except in the most extreme circumstances) - they're pretty adept at recovering debts themselves, they don't need others to help them. 3. I've not received any communications from HMRC in the past (they always write a letter in the first instance) 4. I Googled the number, which led me here, and confirmed my suspicions that this is a scam call. As soon as it ended, I promptly deleted the voicemail, blocked the number and continued with my life. Please do the same!
