Caller said she was from HMRC and that there was a lawsuit against my name and to call the number back immediately. I am presuming that it would have been connected to a premium rate line costing the caller hundreds of pounds. ignored call and reported it to Dorset Police

Richard Harper was the name HMRC scam was the game. (Scam call) reported by


Richard Harper claiming that HMRC were owed £6000 in back tax and if it was paid right away it would be in the papers & it would be a jail sentence. He claimed that it was so high up in the system contacting HMRC was a waste of time as it was high then them now. So obviously a scam.

I have the message on my answer machine. They said there was a "serious lawsuit" against my name. Gave the number to call back on and said if I did not I would "face hard and unwanted legal consequences". Said she was Lisa Williams from HM Revenue and Customs. Do not take any notice of this call ... report it ... and warn others.

left a message on my landline to call HMRC re a pending lawsuit for tax evasion. I did from my mobile. they were frightening me as i am an old age citizen to pay £7298.00 or i will be arrested next day to end up in Jail where expense would be £35000 plus prison. I them started cursing them in Urdu and they cursed me back in Urdu. Bloody Urdu speaking scammers with apparent London number but I bet hiding somewhere in India
