Foreign accent. Claims to be from Exeter ?? life centre about my car accident I had a few days earlier. Making sure I was stress free. Addressed me as my first name which is very rude for cold caller.

Whiplash claim scam (Scam call) reported by


After a road accident he claimed to work for my insurance company. I was suspicious having already received several scam calls, so I queried this 3 times and 3 times he confirmed that he was employed directly by CIS in their "legal dept". He knew many details of the claim, including my full name, the date and circimstances of the accident, my vehicle reg, make, model and colour etc. After several minutes of quite convincing conversation he finally mentioned some non-existent "minor discomfort" after the accident, and this immediately told me it was a scam so I rang off. I telephoned my insurers (CIS) straight away, and they confirmed that this call was not from them, that this telephone number was not theirs and that they are actively seeking to shut down this fraudulent activity. They are unfortunately clueless as to how these scammers obtain all their very detailed information, but they deny that there is any leak from within their company.

I received a call from this number. which claimed to be from my insurance company with who I have an ongoing claim . I became suspicious and again asked what company he was with and he again claimed he was with my insurance company. told him was not proceeding with the conversation until I confirmed this with my insurer.
