Did a quote on Compare the Market got the call moments later despite not giving permission for them to call me for anything. Only contact from CTM via email and no contact from the top suppliers etc. The guy was very polite though and walked me through a lot of things then provided a quote I couldn't actually get on line for critical cover. So mixed bag really. I hate being called but also they were nice and helpful

I went onto money supermarket.com as was looking to see if I could obtain a cheaper life insurance than the one I was on (found out I couldnt) then got this call about life insurance after I had left the web page hours earlier from a guy that wasnt taken much notice of me saying not interested as I have a plan that is about the same value and I wouldnt be gaining anything from leaving them. I dont know the life insurance company name as he didnt say it nor did I find out his name.

They called me about 10:40am dont normally have phone on at night until I'm awake to save battery I asked due to waiting for a call I said hello no anwser next minute they hung up so Obviously a scam no1 anwser them please they are trying to get information out of you they do not like it when you say no thank you

Husband answered this call as I was at work. The caller asked for me by first name only, when told I wasn't in said he would just call back later - no explanation of whose was or what he wanted. Husband is not the understanding type - I was frightened as I didn't know who this person was. I searched on here after husband had gone to work to find its a sales type company. How dare they ask for me by first name only and intimate that I therefore know them. Good job I am not in a domestic violence situation.... Furious.

they called to speak to you most likely regarding the enquiry you made online, obviously they couldn't speak to your partner due to data protection. unless your unsure how to say 'no thank you' they call to offer advice on the enquiry you made for free. You're husband sounds like a nutter, and if this frightened should you id suggest leaving!! if this made you furious you really need a life.

If your husband is "not the understanding type" maybe you should look at DV assistance. Can't believe what I have just read.

Most companies do that now, ask for someone with their christian/first name. Using Mr or Mrs with a surname is much more professional than trying to gain familiarity with using someones first name. They should've said what company they was from as well. when they left the message with your husband. As that is a professional way of calling someone. So I can see your point on a unknown male calling a married woman and leaving the call before anything is established ) Common sense and manners.
