Same old tired 'you have won a competition script' by tired annoying call centre staff from deprived areas. Feel a little sorry for them as I annoy them back or keep them talking to waste their time but it is only payback for the despicable things they do to us. The usual crap, hang up and bllock their number.

I foolishly answered this number on my home phone (they are also calling my mobile twice a day every day) and it was a guy with a very strong accent, I asked him several times for the Company name but couldn't tell what he was saying as he was in such a rush to get out his "spiel" regarding updating my contact details. I told him repeatedly that I hadn't heard of his company and was not going to give him any details but he ignored me and carried on repeating himself so I put the phone down.

Have had daily calls from this number. I don't pick it up and they don't leave a message. It is really annoying now and I can't wait for the new changes to take affect on the 6th April where nuisance callers can be prosecuted for causing harrassment and distress.

Had a call from this number about a competition I entered through itv.com. Struggled to understand the guy on the other end of the phone due to his strong accent. Only went on with the call as he said he wanted to confirm my details for the competition and for a split second actually thought I had won ...but hey who am I kidding !? The call turned into a sales pitch to join a lotto syndicate for guaranteed wins every month at a cost of £39 per month. I am amazed itv are happy to have companies call applicants and encourage them to gamble. And who has the best part of £40 per month to spend on the lottery ? Well I started to feel like I was in one of those banking scams.. So before I let the conversation go any further I simply said I had to end the call as I had to go out. Normally I would gave hung up long before ..especially talking to a guy with a dodgy accent. I have to say the call seemed like it was from a call centre as there was a lot of background noise. Tried to get the name of the company but because of the accent and noise in the bkground just couldn't grasp the name. Hence why I looked up the number instead and found this page. So moral of the tale be careful when you enter comps through itv.com..

I called this number back as I get a lot of calls from different companies regarding my work. A woman answered very polite and said did I remember entering a competition for an Amazon voucher (I do remember) she reeled off my email and address and phone number and said I was in with a chance (ok) then went on to ask if I play the lottery which I never do. I wasn't pressured at all she said if I change my mind I could call back and there would be no more calls from them unless I won the Amazon prize and then that would just be to confirm my details hadn't changed. Apart from the details she had she didn't press me for anything else. The company was Elite Lotto there is an official company and a couple of scam companies going by this name. I don't know which this was. But like I said I was not pressured or made to feel obligated to give out any details.

I have entered into itv.com competitions of late and this number keeps trying to call me. Always ignored. Thanks for the advice on here.

BARBIEL, I had the exact same experience and I naively listened to the lady with Scottish accent trying to understand what she is trying to say. After 15 min of explaining how my 600 chances per week to win the Lotto can be my chance to become a Millionaire I laughed and asked for name, company ,website and e-mail. I refused to give my bank details as she was "proceeding with my membership" and they had to have the details upfront. I have not yet received any e-mails, however, but I got her name.. from what I could hear it was something like Elite Lotto 0800355590 (never trusted phones starting with 08..), [email protected] and her name was Jeoaleime Williams.. So be careful guys ..Never give your details as the spam will never end.. Sometimes a number might call and charge you 10£ per min.
