I picked up the phone last week and this guy seemed really genuine and asked about what paper I read. Then offered some deal about the Times for a really cheap price. I just told him to send the vouchers in the post like they normally do for discounted papers. He said I had to pay over the phone first. Told him no and he doesn't stop ringing since roughly 5 times a day. My mother answered the phone to him and he was really aggressive down the phone to her so she just hung up in an instant. Still keep receiving calls though.

An advertising agency that's playing automated messages for Times Newspaper. Then received a call from a private number regarding PPI. Seems to me that these calls come from the same agency

I had a call a day before from somebody doing a survey and I answered one of the questions about which paper I read. So this company called me the next day trying to sell some paper subscription to me. I said no thanks and he was quite rude/pushy, so I hung up.

Landline from London area, but I couldn't find any info for this specific number - there are more similar numbers reported with different just last 3 digits (I saw one reported in connection with NSPPC - check them at http://www.nspcc.org.uk/ - but no idea if this is the same case). Did someone answer any number of this range?

But are they genuine? Sounded like a good deal £1 for the FT for a month, but I don't give bank account details to people who ring me.
