BT telling me I have computer issue (Robocall) reported by


It was a computer message telling me to press one as I have had someone in Mexico game my Up address. Pressed one and spoke to an Indian guy asking me to log on my computer. I said I'm not happy doing this and I'll have my husband sort it out tonight. He then told me I must do it within the next two hours or I'll loose my internet. I asked him for number I can call back on and this was the number I was give, then he hang up on me. So I'll wait to see if me internet goes off hmmm!

After a brief conversation with the Indian sounding guy from so called BT internet ibm security, he told us that we have had our ip address cloned, he wanted us to press the windows and R button on our keyboard and write the letters EVENTVWR,(DON'T DO IT) luckily we gathered he was a scam caller, we asked for his bt id and name,before we would do anything and call him back, he got a bit shirty but gave us a name and id (obviously fake) Micheal Pingle id number M7536, WE HUNG UP!!!! Luckily we're a bit wise to these scams now but there are lots of people that aren't. More needs to be done about stopping these people!

Internet Router Compromised (Scam call) reported by


My boss took a call from John Matthews of BT who advised that our Internet Router had been hacked. Luckily my boss took a name and number and said I'd call him back. We thought it might be a scam, so I checked here first and very glad I did!

said it was bt tech divison - I stupidly let them remotely access my pc - had to call police when I realised a scam and also had to freeze bank account and now have new router ID and password BEWARE!!

claim that my ip address had been hacked. Would install new one. (Scam call) reported by


Caller, Indian accent, claimed my ip address had been hacked. Would send a BT engineer next day to re-programme my router. I was suspicious and ended the call. Caller gave me this number to ring back. When I did, another Indian sounding man ansered, said his name was Paul. I said I thought he as a scammer and his hung up.
