Virgin Media retention. The person I spoke to was clear and concise. He asked what deal I'd been offered and beat it by £20 a month. So definitely not a scam.

Caller said he was from Virgin Media and wanted characters from my password, refused to give them. He asked for my email address which I gave him, he then wanted to know the amount of the last bill that was sent to me. I informed him that I pay by direct debit snd he hung up. If this was genuine then he was extremely unprofessional.

Said they were Virgin Media and told me my modem was to become obsolete in two weeks, they would replace it free of charge and I wouldn't have to sign a new contract - sounded OK but then he asked for my password or bank details - I ended the call.
