Caller said the online banking had been suspended because of two large payments made today. Caller could not provide a ref number for his tel call and offered tel 0345 300 4108 to phone the "bank security services" Spoke with the bank, it is a scam.

this is the phone number given on a very convincing scam Natwest phishing website. my mother received a letter (very professional looking), claiming to be from natwest, informing her that she needed to give them up to date details in order to shop online. something seemed fishy about it to me. very clever, multi-layer scam. will be reporting this to police.

Checked with Natwest's fraud line. They confirmed this is 100% a scam. They are aware of it, but because the scam originates from a postal letter, it is very difficult for them to do anything about it.

Rang on the office number saying that there has been an unauthorised amount of money taken from our business account and that he needs to download a tracker programme - as soon as I heard this I told him to pull the other one as it's got bells on it - he laughed out loud and promptly hung up! Rang from a genuine Nat West Business number and was very well spoken. Be aware!

Took a call from a guy who asked for our Finance dept. When I asked if I could help he said he was calling from Natwest serious fraud department. I said we didn't bank with Natwest and he asked who we did bank with. I said I wasn't prepared to answer that and said I didn't trust the call and I was hanging up, which I did.

Called from a Natwest number, claiming our bankline had been accessed from Ireland and ran checks on payments etc, I was suspicious so asked him to call me back and confirm number - the number is the one quoted on Natwest website so seemed legit! Then wanted to run a test payment to check for hacking/malware. At this point I became really suspicious as he wanted to make a test payment for £19k! Said I'd need authorisation and asked him to call back. Then rang Natwest direct to check and they confirmed it was a scam. He was very well spoken and great at leading, not your usual scam artist! Be careful!

Rang pretending to be from Natwest Fraud, had no information and when I told him it was a scam, he was indignant until I told him we had no accounts with Natwest, he said we had 3, I asked him under what name, his response....'Knob Limited', I told him he was an **** and to go away (sort of) He was well spoken and I guess around late twenties.

they called and said they are from Natwest Fraud Department and had the company name. After I led him on for a while, it was obvious that it was a scam. Upon advising him that he had the wrong company, he started asking me about my breasts, whether they are massive or enormous. I politely hung up as I was at work.

Phoned from a legitimate RBS bank phone number !! Don't know how they do that !! Saying attempts had been made on my account and wanted to run a test payment. Even though I checked the name the guy gave me and the phone number were correct I had a bad feeling when he didn't seem to know how to navigate the payment screen and asked me what fields were left to be filled in eek can't cope with all these scams they're getting too crafty.

Said there had been attempts to make transactions from Aberdeen, Scotland for 3 large sums to different companies. Asked me to log onto my business account and asked if there was any unusual activity, and ran these payments passed me. Asked for my balance. Explained ways in which fraud can happen, eg key stroke hacking. Asked to put me on hold whilst he checked something. On hold I got a fax machine sound so hung up and checked with my bank. They had no record of calling me. The number ID is a genuine Natwest contact number, but it is a SCAM!

caller said that they were the fraud department of our NatWest bank account and that they had detected unauthorised activity on the account - someone had tried three times to access the account to take out ten thousand pounds !!!!!! they wanted to do some checks on the account to assess if it was being hacked - it was a scam !!!
