I got a call but didn't answer. Looked familiar as I'm an SSE customer. Got a voicemail, no message but lots of background noise. Some of their call centres are in southern Africa. Already got smart meters.

SSE it was yes and their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. The staff I spoke to on 11 occasions had very little knowledge or understanding of the basic business unfortunately. On the 12th contact, person actually reconfirmed the issues, simple issues, they passed to a 3rd party supervisor and two weeks later got an email with all the information and how they had now put it right. Updated bill a week later and confirmation issues fixed but they still cannot action a refund as required and they agreed is required. It was too much time so I left that company a month ago thankfully. I lost 300 pounds but life is too short. Usless is an under statement.

03450783248 IS A SCAM – called me on an unlisted number! Claimed to be Amazon and about to charge me £79.99 to renew my Prime Account. If I wanted to cancel, I should press 1 to speak to an adviser - no doubt to solicit my personal details like name, bank account, address, etc. DO NOT BE CONNED.

Sounded like a party was going on in the background, complete with drums! Caller insisted they would call back. I get lots of calls from this number, it's quite frustrating and it makes me regret changing to SSE.
