Phone contract upgrade offer (Scam call) reported by


Caller claimed to be calling on behalf of O2 in respect of my phone contract (which he said was ending soon so I was due an upgrade). This was factually incorrect and the behaviour of a scammer as I have not had a contract with 02 for over a year. When I told him this he went on a "fishing expedition" to find out who my provider was. He said "oh it must be GiffGaff then" (they run on O2's network). I actually use Tesco mobile but did not tell him this and hung up. The whole tone of the call was clearly fraudulent as the man was pretending to already have access to information about my account and pretending he had authority from my network to discuss it with me.

had someone call me off this number offering a mobile phone contract so i discussed it further with the gentleman i spoke with, then decided to arrange a phone call back from them so i could compare the price they gave me against other companies and nothing even come close the fantastic price they offered me, so im quite happy to say i now have a brand new iphone 8 and a great price and no upfront costs for the phone :) one happy lady

Followed a second call about my account of which they clearly know nothing, say I should upgrade to a business account, nice conversation but still they claim to be O2 who they very clearly are not.
