I have had dealings with them in the past regarding my bill and setting up of payment schemes for an elderly relative, it is a legit number and they will ask the date of Birth just so they know they are speaking with the account holder. If you are not with Southern Water then fair enough tell them they have no business in ringing you.

They said they were southern water and asked me for my details. I didn’t give it to them as I wasn’t sure.
