As per other entries, call received today (13th Sept) 9:45 threatening legal action. The police should follow this up and treat these scammers to some legal action!

Re the above comments, I was phoned from this number, same well spoken English male voice, at 8.15 this morning issuing threats e.g. warrant for my arrest. I was already aware of this scam so I didn't fall for it but my decent friend IN HER MID-EIGHTIES, LIVING ALONE AND WITH LIMITED MOBILITY did because she was afraid she'd got her tax affairs into a muddle. Fortunately, scepticism prevailed after she had rung off but she was landed with cancelling her bank card etc and having to go into the nearest town to rectify it. The only apparent action being taken is by nuisance callers offering to sell you, after initial coyness about costs, a device for filtering out such calls.

Claimed to be acting on behalf of HMRC, threatening legal action against me. Told me a case number and to ring back on this number. They hung up when I rang them and told them what I thought of them. Scam.
