Claimed to be from TPS updating my details, (Scam call) reported by Lorna
The caller - Rose, said she was from the telephone preference service, just updating my details. She then proceeded to ask for my debit card details which I refused to give of course. I asked for her details and she gave me a number to call and verify her call. I didn't bother assuming it was a scam. She then called back half an hour later and asked me to give her the long number on my card, I refused saying I never give it out over the phone - she actually tried to tell me that it was just an identification number for them to link to my TPS account! I laughed and refused, then she proceeded to tell me that I would be removed from the TPS and now receive lots of unwanted calls from UK and overseas every day. Out of interest I then dialled the number she had given me, it was answered with an 'ello' and I asked who I had phoned as I'd missed a call from this number, the man said 'which number' so I said it was the one I'd called him on, who was he. He said he would tell me if I told him what number I'd called!!! Makes you wonder how many business they are posing as.
