Fake Amazon Fraud Department (Scam call) reported by


Really despicable, left automated voicemail saying they were Amazon Fraud Dept and if I didn't call back I'd be charged £198. I was very suspicious, called back and spoke to 'James'. I asked if this was legitimate and if so, could they contact me back again before I gave out details. He hung up without a word. I called back, oddly got through to 'James' again (because we all know how small Amazon is) and he got annoyed and demanded, 'why do you keep calling me?', and I explained it was because I'd been asked to. He then said, 'oh, are you Ms Johnson?' I said no, surely he knew I was not - he became very agitated and said 'Okay well that message was for Ms Johnson so you can ignore it.' I thanked him and advised him I would be reporting his rubbish scam, which I am duly doing. Also reported on 'Report Fraud.

Just had the same call claiming my card linked to my amazon account was being used for the purchase of an iphone 12 and to call the number back. I have been in touch with amazon who have confirmed it is fraud and has been reported! Be careful people!
