Silence. The telemarketing equivalent of a heavy breather call. You do wonder how they expect elderly and vulnerable people not to feel unnerved by calls like this. I wasn't bothered, carried on watching Magnum on Granada plus whilst eating a bag of Haribo.

Called on my mobile, I missed the call but interestingly you can't dial back using the same number as it is "not recognised". That's why I looked it up and found this site. Guess this is random dialling or they buy databases. Other callers about car accidents say they buy the information from a central log of car claims - interesting! So what about data protection then? The data companies are making money selling this on to these people. Perhaps it's the insurance companies selling on the data or the claims handlers/repairers?

The last time I had an accident was forty years ago! These are not the only people to ring me, convinced that I've had a recent accident that was not my fault. Obviously they buy numbers from somewhere. I don't participate in surveys etc, so not sure where they got mine from. Surely though someone must know who owns the number - the telephone company, at least? They need to be shot down (or even SHUT!)
