HMRC Scam Phone Call (Debt collector) reported by


I recently received a voicemail with the following automated message: "You are subject of an Investigation and your house is under surveillance." I called back and someone explained to me that they were a tax officer, and if I didn't make a payment over the phone (£867.00), I would be going to court / imprisonment. They also wanted a selfie with my drivers license and debit card details. When I had agreed to make payment, they asked me to email and send my selfie to [email protected] however when I saw this address I refused to make any further contact with them. The phone number they called me from was: 0203 807 5587

Horrible and quite sinister message left by a computerised voice stating that I was under investigation and my house was under surveillance. If an elderly or vulnerable person got this message it could really scare them. If I could get my hands on these people I really would be under investigation. For ****! Stop these calls they are criminal!

"You are subject of an Investigation and your house is under surveillance." If I get any unknown calls with short ring times, I instantly check the number on the internet. Unlike other calls relating to unknown car accidents however, this call has a measure of menaces, and threat which I feel could unnerve some people. This style of cold calling must be stopped.

Left voicemail saying I was a suspect and my house was under surveillance! Rang them back and they claimed to be HMRC before hanging up on me! Have reported to the real HMRC.
