Very rude, saying he was from the registration department of my electricity company, and needed to send me paperwork. Tried to confirm my date of birth as only had month and year ( obviously I didn’t give any info out!).rang several times. When I asked why he was trying to scam me he hung up.

Has called 11 times today in a space of 4 hours and each time has demanded meter readings (even though our company has already taken them by physically coming and taking them) and once told this becomes very rude and agressive. When told not to call again, calls within 15 minituea as if hes never called before.

Really rude guy has been calling my cafe at least twice a day. When I spoke to him today he said they needed a meter reading as they were switching my energy supplier. When I said I didn't want to change he just said that I would be changing anyway as his company is cheaper. When I continually told him I was not switching he got quite stroppy. I then hung up and he called me straight back to tell me that I should not pay my current supplier and that I was switching regardless.again I hung up!

Reception phone rang. A guy said he calls me from Afghanistan, although this is a London number, wants to be friends with me. I refused, said I am busy, I don't have time for anything like that, he insisted that he will call me back later, he is also at work. Kept explaining my mind, was really polite to him, but hang up with shaking hands when he asked me back after telling him 'I need to go now I'm afraid', 'Are you afraid?' Freaked me out completely. This was a couple of months back, today he called me again asking me if I remember a few months back he wanted to be friends with me. Just hang up on him.

Same thing happened as per other reviews on here. They called to say they were company house asking for meter reading because we company has changed. Then they call to say they were national grid. Then they called to say they were British Gas. Out of the 30 calls they made they refused to stop calling and so persistent that you cannot run your business as usual. They are offensive and fraudulently asking for information so can change your energy supplier. Even when you catch them out they still are lying though their teeth trying to wear you down. They know some details like your account number and also they know we have changed companies at this premises. So be careful not to provide them with your readings or the importantly your meter number. Your energy supplier will contact you by post if they are cutting your power off. Ofgem will not be able to help as these people are energy brokers and not suppliers so they cannot control how some of these fraudulent energy suppliers operate. It Seems silly as since we are living in the uk and the government bodies should be protecting citizens like us from being scammed. You can call ofgem only to report your complaint and hopefully if everyone complains in huge numbers something might be done about these rogue energy brokers. Perhaps even lodge a complaint to the police as I consider this is illegal because they are pretending to be a company that they are not to get private information for their financial gains. These rogue energy brokers also can generate different telephone numbers so be aware of this. Do not provide any private information and put the phone down and call your energy supplier if they made a call to you or not. Hope this helps others
