I answered just saying 'hallo'. A man who introduced himself with an Italian name, speaking Italian (my mother language) but with a North African/Arab accent immediately claimed that I did not say my name. I answered that people who call me on this number know my name and do not need to justify myself for not saying it. He wanted to explain me his financial proposal, I said I had no interest and he insisted that I had to tell him my nameand that he would anyway call me back. I switched off the phone.

This person ("Olivia") harvested my phone number from a job board, and called me regarding an "investment opportunity", in foreign exchange trading, with vague promises of a quick return, and a "personal investor" — but until pushed, would not disclose that a deposit (around €200-300, payable by credit/debit card) was required, in order to activate the "service", and begin trading. After saying that I was not interested, and that I didn't have the deposit money readily available, I was subsequently called, a few weeks later, with a supposedly improved offer (double deposit, or so), and preceded to block the number, after repeated protestations, and playing an air horn sound, down the phone, to encourage them to hang up - which stopped calls, for a few days, until they called again (I am awaiting calls regarding job applications, so need to have my line readily free), from a private number. They have continued to make these calls, with increasing intensity, and will keep trying to call, even if the call is rejected. The company itself doesn't seem to be registered with any kind of UK financial services body, despite the Website claiming associations with several major companies, and appears to be based in an offshore tax haven.
