Received a call today supposedly from the HMRC advising me of a 'lawsuit' being filed against me and to press 1. I was suspicious because the word 'lawsuit' was used and I don't owe them any money (they probably owe me) ....I put the phone down.

Said they were from HMRC - not quite sure what they were on about. Presumed it was a scam as soon as I was told to press 1 to speak to a case officer then line cut off. Put phone down as soon as I heard this.

Pretending to be HMRC and advising me that a lawsuit was being (Scam call) reported by


I was called today 29th June 2017 from an automated service that advised me that there was a lawsuit being prepared against me by the HMRC. I was advised to press 1 on my phone to speak with someone. I ended up speaking to an Indian sounding woman who demanded details from me before she could proceed and told me if I did not verifie the data she had about me she would hang up the call, I refused to give her any of my details so she did as she promised and hung up the call.

A recorded message allegedly from HMRC advising they're filing a lawsuit against me and to press 1 to speak to a case officer. The fact that the number obviously isn't a genuine HMRC number, but also that they used the American word 'lawsuit' suggests it's a scam.
