As described by a previous commenter, our business (located in Canada) received a fax addressed to a former employee whose name still shows up on our junk mail sometimes, looking for personal information in order to claim a life insurance payout from what I assume is a fictional deceased person's policy.

Same fax again, almost identical wording, this time claiming to be from a different London, UK-based law firm, addressed to some random other person whose junk mail we sometimes get -- possibly a past board member?

We are business owners. I have a name I use whenever I get a scam call. It's a fake name, so when someone calls for that name, I know it's an unwanted call. Well, this time, I got a fax from these people. Apparently my fake name, which is a completely ridiculous nonsense name, has a deceased millionaire of the same name related to it. I am supposed to get in touch so the man can submit my details and proofs of identity, which he supposedly already has, and I can claim my inheritance. The person tried to use a lot of flowery language, but as a part time grammar teacher, I can confidently say that this person's native language is not English, and there's no way he can be a native English barrister from London.
