Was told a letter from hmrc had been returned and I was to press 1 to speak to an officer. I can imagine this would be scary to a vulnerable person.

This is a genuine number for Opinion Research Services who conduct surveys on behalf of the Mayor of London's office. I had to tell them to call on a different day on this occasion, because the calls can take a while.

English sounding guy (initially sounded like heavy breather) says he is phoning on behalf of London Mayor to ask about London policing. Asked him where he got my number. He said it's a random number selection. Told him I didn't want unsolicited calls and hung up.

got a call just now.. 19/jan/2022. English voice - it was a survey call, said " the mayor wants to hear your views about policing." as I wasn't sure about the call, refused it politely and she ended the call. not sure it was genuine or was a cold call.

An Indian lady cold called me and tried to ask questions about policing and crime. She had a thick Indian accent. I was annoyed about the cold call. She did not even understand what tps is. It was my mobile flip phone where I cannot block the number. It is illegal to call me like that when I am registered with tps but she claimed it is legal. I am convinced it is scam from India. Other people said they pretended to be an insurance.
