I'd just called Barclays (on the number on the back of my card) to book an appointment and then got this automated call to confirm the date and time.As these reports are re multiple companies I wonder if they outsource thier robocalls to the same company?!

Very persistent call (Scam call) reported by


These buggers are quite persistent, the number was obviously a scam number so we didn’t answer. It kept ringing for well over a minute, stopped then after less than 10 or so seconds it rang again for over a minute. They try to catch you out and hold you hostage in your own home. It could be quite intimidating to some individuals experiencing this plus it blocks the line. When is the government going to do something about these scum bags?

Shocking how many people report this number as a scam, unless it was in the past and now the UK Government's HMRC is using it! This number rang me because I wanted to log in to the GOVERNMENT GATEWAY of HMRC! I will concede that although at the time of logging it did say it would take a few minutes for the verification code to appear - in fact it was HOURS LATER! But the point is, it is LEGITIMATE and you will not receive a call or text from this number unless you requested it!

Just make sure that no one has your landline number when you need to provide personal information." Genuine all from Blacks Outdoor saying my order was on its way. I ordered last night and also received an email this morning with the same message. Scammers may of course be **** this number but in my case it was genuine.
