Telephone blocking Service (Scam call) reported by Caroline Stevens
Long call with various indian men who claimed to offer a nuisance call blocking service as approved by BT, Virgin Media etc. Knew my telephone providers were Virgin Media, so presumably have got my number from them even though it is ex directory. I asked very early in the call if the service was free and was told "there is no daily, weekly, monthly or annual charge and it is for life" Much further down the call I was pushed for my card details which I refused 4 times. I was told it was "safe " to give my bank card details to verify I paid my tel bills on time. (so long as I did not give them the 3 digit security Number. This is not true as they can set up a direct debit with just your bank details . Finally I was told there was a one off £21.99 charge. The final person I spoke then got very pushy, even though I told him I was going to make a complaint as he was trying to mis sell me a service. After hanging up after 18 mins on the call, they had the check to try to ring me back within minutes!

Claiming telephone preference service (Scam call) reported by Suz
Knew my name and address, said my bank card expires soon and wanted expiry date, then wanted six digit number as it appears under my name on bank card (this is sort code, didn't give it). Said it wasn't a scam cos they didn't want long number on card or three digit security number (I knew they only needed sort code and account number to set up direct debit)

Claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service (Scam call) reported by Kat
Had numerous silent calls from this number today. Finally someone spoke and wanted me to confirm my details. They got very pushy with me and eventually "couldn't hear me" anymore when I asked why they needed such details for a free service which was handled online only. Beware!
