I checked with Currys through their online web chat. They informed that this phone number is definitely a scam and they would only get in touch via email or sms.

"TOM" from curry's called me in this number knew I'd ordered a new pc and offered curry's unique 7 day repair or replace insurance for £4.40 a month (presumably if I did - he'd have required my bank details) told him I didn't, he asked if I had any questions I asked about the drives on the pc and we were suddenly cut off. All I did give him was my name and address which he could have got from anywhere.

Called me and I answered then they gave their name , knew my name, and said I have a delivery and spoke about the process of the delivery. I said okay but I did not ask for delivery I said pick-up and they apologised and corrected themselves. Said since it’s a high value order I should get care for it in a very sales pitch tone. I politely declined and they were nice about it and hung up. Didn’t ask for any information like other peoples did but I am not sure that giving even such small details about my order was safe. Cant contact curry’s either since their phone number is absolutely useless, i think I’ll go up there and ask about it in person

A "rep" from currys called asking details about me and my parcel, things that only a employee would know. But not enough for them to outright scam you, it is beyond a joke! They should not have access to your mobile number nor what you ordered or spent money on.

Called regarding an online purchase made day before. He knew the purchased product, asked to "confirm" address & postcode, mobile number, and knew details about previous purchases & last 4 digits of an expired card number. Wanted to sign me up for a £2.50 a month care plan, and I only needed to provide my account number & sort code. Sounded immediately annoyed when I said not interested.

Caller ID said Hamilton counselling. Caller said he was calling from Curry’s and wanted to offer me extended warranty on an item I bought from Curry’s for my son. Caller knew the delivery address and details of the purchase so clearly a Curry’s insider possibly delivery. What he did not know was that I had already purchased the extended warranty and the price he quoted did not match. I did not enlighten him I saw no point in contacting Curry’s after reading other persons experiences of their lack of interest. I did however report the scam

Interestingly I got a missed call from this number and I happen to have placed an order yesterday with Currys. How is it even possible that my details are shared with scammers (if that is the case)

I had a missed call from this number this afternoon…I ordered a washing machine from Curry’s yesterday to go to a different address to mine…I put the other person’s phone number on the order with the delivery address, so why call me? Curry’s need to step up their online security!!

Curry's have a serious security breach inside their org. This scammer has high level info but requests far more than would ever be required. Called Curry's to report and they seemed aware of it but confirmed it isn't their number. I won't be shopping there again.
