Had the same as the above, advising there was an amazing property and that she was hard of hearing and had moved to Sheffield to be closer to family. The property was in Telford. She asked for the security deposit before me viewing the property. I then searched and found this here. Thank you all as I cannot afford to have lost out on £400 at this time.

When you look for accommodation on internet. She will text you and/or email you. She will ask you to pay her deposit and one month rent in advance before visiting the property. When money is paid, she will delay you from visiting the property. at last you will find there is no such a property exists.

Yep, she has recently contacted me and I got suspicious when she asked for the deposit upfront. Too good to be true

I have been contacted by Julie Taylor saying she has a property to rent. Seems like she is still at it. I have not given her any money. If it sounds to good to be true it properly is!

This "person" is currently talking to me via email.. Same "hearing problem".. Moved nearer to family because of hearing loss. Great rent & deposit prices. Exactly what anyone desperate enough wants to "hear". Wouldn't travel to the location without a deposit. *Oh in that case I'll just pop £500 into your account shall i* Trouble is. People will trust this person and end up out of pocket. I'm glad we didn't

*She* has currently tried this with me today. The first email I received told me she doesn't live in said area but she has a lovely house perfect for what I'm after. She went on about her hearing loss and that's why she's moved back to Southampton to be near family. If I could pay the deposit before viewing to show I was interested. She can scan a copy of her ID and proof of owner ship. So I've asked for that and her bank details (Ho Ho) let her/him/it get excited for a few minutes. . We was already suspect but when my husband looked on google for her name and landlord all this come up. So thank you all. Let hope others read these comments and don't get stung. Evil person.

I have been contacted by a Julie taylor about a property which really seems to good to be true - we haven't got to the payment stage yet but now that I've seen these im guessing it's a scam but it's a different phone number - it's +44 161 850 7657 that she's calling off this time

She is at it again, I almost parted with £500 to secure a viewing on a 'perfect property' she found a ad on Gumtree I had posted looking for a property and it all seemed quite genuine until she asked for me to pay £500 into a 'Gemma Meehan' her solicitors account! Please pass around to avoid anyone falling into this fraudulent trap!

WARNING don't get involved with a rental scam being done by a 'Julie Taylor' or 'Mrs Taylor' Me and my partner were looking for a flat in London, she contacted me with very legitimate emails, perfect pictures, low rent including bills, tenancy agreement etc . I got suspicious when I never got to speak to her as she had a 'hearing problem' which conveniently meant she could not speak on the phone , certainly wasn't gonna give money without seeing flat. I got in car and drove round to the place just to see it even existed, it did... woman who answered door said she didn't know anything about it (although she was super suspicious, I had a feeling she might be something to do with it, the woman had a Manchester accent and 'Julie' said she was living in Manchester and the original contact came from a Manchester number). As it happened there was a police car on the road, I had a chat with them but they said as no money has been handed over, technically no crime has been committed yet. However the distress/disappointment me and my flatmate have been put through. These people are just awful! I'm not the only one this has happened to, I found a similar warning from a couple in Nottingham, same woman, same scam.

I was caught out today by JT. Reported to police. I wish I had seen this first. Expensive lesson.
