Car accident scames (Telemarketer) reported by


They rang as they do every month. This time I went through with them for a lot longer then I ever had before. Said I'd had an accident and I wanted to talk to someone. They put me through to a lady with a heavy accent (Indian possibly) who said she was calling from London at a company called Skylar. She asked if I'd been in an accident and I said yes. She said "When sir" I said "4 months ago" She said, "I'm calling about your compensation" and I asked "How did you know about it if you didn't know I was in an accident?" she said "We did know sir, the police told us" I asked her where it was based and she was very evasive. I said "The police couldn't have told you as it never happened" and told her to remove me from the list and she hung up without saying anything else. Scammers who ought to be prosecuted.

Caller informed me that I’d had a car accident that was not my fault. When I said that this was incorrect she refused to remove me from her list and continued forcefully to insist that I had had an accident, even though I had repeatedly told her otherwise. Either a scam or very very stupid staff!

Rude and pushy - they have purchased contact details to cold call daily about making false insurance claims...even when told it is untrue. They do not listen and when challenged they hang up and wait 24 hours before calling back

Pre-recorded voice introduced itself as Lydia Barlow Somebody-or-other working for Skylark, re my "recent car accident" and ending with "Is that right?", at which presumably the call would have been transferred to a human. I didn't say anything and hung up. Blatant cold call scam.
